Dear Lady Anglers,

The safety and well-being of all our members is extremely important to CCA. We have always strived to create fun, family-oriented events, while at the same time providing a safe environment. The committee and CCA staff has had many discussions with committee members, participants and The Town of Fulton. Out of an abundance of caution with regard to COVID-19 concerns, the Babes on the Bay Committee and The Town of Fulton feel it is in the best interest of our members that the 2020 Babes on the Bay All Women’s Tournament be cancelled.  This decision has not come easily, and we will truly miss seeing all of you this year. Once we put 2020 firmly in our rearview mirror, the Committee is fully committed to having an even bigger and better tournament in 2021.

Many have already inquired about the handling of entry fees in the event that the tournament had to be cancelled.  After careful deliberation, the Committee has determined that entry fees may be handled in one of three ways: 

• Your team may request a full refund

• You and your team may roll your 2020 entries over to the 2021 Tournament

• Your team may elect to contribute your 2020 tournament entry fees and receive your tournament swag bags, complete with one-year memberships in CCA Texas.

The Babes on the Bay Committee thanks you all for your patience in these trying times and we hope you and your family stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you again, ready to compete in 2021!

Babes on the Bay is an all-women’s fishing tournament that has been in existence since
the year 2000.  The tournament is hosted and run by the CCA Texas Aransas Bay
Chapter, based in Rockport, Texas.  The tournament was created to help educate women
about the sport of saltwater fishing in a conservation minded approach.  This format not
only educates and brings more women into the sport of fishing, but it instills an attitude of  conservation to the sport through conservative bag limits in place during the tournament  and encouraging the participants to keep only the fish they need.

The event offers an opportunity for women from across the State of Texas and the entire
country to come together in a fun filled weekend with live bands, vendor booths, 
educational outreach by Texas Parks and Wildlife and other conservation minded
organizations.  In addition, each participant of the tournament receives a CCA Texas
membership as part of their entry.  This membership provides continued educational
outreach about conservation issues along the Texas coast through the CCA Texas state
newsletter Currents, and the CCA National magazine Tide.   

Don’t miss out and be sure to join the largest all-women’s fishing event in the country.  Be a part of the effort to educate women of all ages about the conservation of Texas’s coastal resources and the sport of saltwater fishing.
